TAKE UP A HOBBY

Hobbies have filled our country with fun things to do for many people over the years. When people hear the word "hobby" they usually think of something really boring such as collecting stamps (no harm was intended if you collect stamps) However there are such things as fun hobbies. Fun hobbies include scuba diving, surfing, play sports, make cool stuff, or maybe just simple like stamp collecting which may seem fun to you but not to others. One of my personal hobbies are surfing and scuba diving, both involve the ocean which I find to be my happy medium, whenever we feel like we need to get away or relax we all have that thing that soothes us, mine being the water. OK now back to hobbies. A cool hobby to try out that you would not regret would be training animals to do many things. You also have to be more of an animal person to do this, but training a dog to be a service aid dog for a blind individual or a deaf one, is rewarding to know that what you enjoy doing helps people out in some way.

Happy Hobbying :)

BAKE SOMETHING YUMMY!

There is always a time when we crave to eat cookies or brownies. However, when you go to store and buy those sealed cookies or packaged brownies, they may taste like heaven, but deep down you know that you crave the taste of a home made cookie or brownie. The taste is hard to described in why they are different other than the fact then they just are! Homemade bakings are also a great way to make someone feel special by saying that you took time to make it for them. Here are a few things to try baking:
  • cookies
  • brownies
  • cakes
and for those cookie fanatics, here is an amazing recipe:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups unsalted butter (melted)
2 cups brown sugar (firmly packed)
    1 cup white sugar
    2 tablespoons vanilla extract
    2 eggs
    2 egg yolks
3 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips or chunks

Preheat oven to 325 F. Grease cookie sheets. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in one bowl. In another bowl, cream melted butter and both the brown sugar and white sugar until well blended. Beat in the vanilla, egg, and egg yolk until the consistency is light and creamy. Mix in the flour, baking soda and salt from the other bowl until blended. Stir in the chocolate chunks by hand. Drop 1/4 cup of dough onto the prepared cookie sheets. The cookies should be about 3 inches apart as they spread a bit. Bakefor 15 to 18 minutes at 325F or until golden brown. Let sit on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Text Someone

SMS texting has dominated the teen world as the most common form of communication between each other 18.5 billion SMS messages are sent each month!! It has also become a great past time and maybe an obsession. Surveys show that 77% percent text while driving which is the one place you SHOULDN'T be texting anyone. Texting while driving is becoming one of the greatest causes of car crashes as the year moves on. Another fun fact would be that 79% of people who text text while using the bathroom!! This trend may soon one day even replace the human language. Texting is a good thing in that you can say basically anything without emotion, for example you could write "lol, or lmao" when all you're really doing is reading the text.

happy texting!

PUT UP CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

Christmas is just round the corner and the spirit is in the air. With the all the commotion about what to buy and what to cook on Christmas, people are forgetting the best part of the spirit! Putting up christmas lights is absolutely tiring and requires patience but at night when you pull in to your driveway, it is absolutely worth any blood shed or ant attacks. I began putting p some up yesterday after school, and so far so good, so who ever reads this post stay tuned for an update with ' a picture of my house finished (by the way the picture with the house and lights is not mine,  im not THAT patient.)

Go cruising

Booking a cruise, is worth 110% of what you paid for. Not only do you reciece quality service, but you are also provided with a vacation full of worry-free activities and tours to take in other countries. The food on the ships is also incredible, no matter how many times you go to the gym, you will continue to gain weight throughout the cruise (which is worth the sacrifice) Cruising also means you don't have to worry about doing the dishes or taking out the trash or even making you bed, and flushing the toilet if you want to be that lazy. Cruising is one of the top ways to go on vacation since it is a lot cheaper than paying to go 4 different countries, as apart from when cruising you go to 4 counties in 7 days.

think about it...

Go flowriding

This may be one of the most exhilirating things you may do in your life! In florida surfing is not all that popular due to the extreme lack of waves. this machine will pump 30,000 gallons of water at 35 mph at you non-stop! It is not an easythingg to master, but is definately something worth trying. if you ever have time to find one of these machines, don not even hesitate, just bok a session and bring your friends! these machines are hard to find but are currently placed on 3 cruise ships also (see picture above). maybe a cruise may e to expensive, but other stores may be found also.

Trying a relationship

Something nice to try would be to try and find someone special. Finding this person may be a lot harder than it sounds, but in the end is worth it. A relationship is nice and always makes you feel like as if your family members are not the only people who care about you. When you do actually find a potential person that makes you happy, making it work is a whole other story. To make a relationship last in high school takes a lot of practice and patience. The ideal person shouldn't really be in any of your classes (it doesn't matter to much if they are). The reason for not having them in classes is that in high school, we get bored quickly, so we need the factor of not seeing each other and missing each other. When you realize you do miss the person, that usually means your heading in the right direction and its working out. After that you can assume that somewhere down the line, the word "love" is used. When you use the word, try to absolutely mean it in every way. DO NOT use it excessively, this usually promotes the idea that you have done something wrong and you are covering it up with that word. It's hard to try to tell someone how to have a relationship but this helps with the majority and is usually common sense.

good luck

Great Pranks

Getting a good prank off on someone is priceless, and is absolutely worth all the time and planning for it. A nice prank too try, would be to clear wrap the door of an un-suspecting person. Wrap the door entrance at just the feet, or all over the entrance of the doorway if you have time. If you do it all over, try to make it so wrinkles cannot be seen. Once all is done, take any loud objects and wake the person, and alert their senses by screaming a crazy thought such as"The house is on fire!" The victim does not need to be sleeping, but if he is awake, he is more likely to see the clear film in front of him. So try chasing him or making him run straight into the door way.

enjoy

Another thing to try would be trying to do what we all know as the jackass stunt.

go get a shopping cart sit in it, have someone sprint while pushing you to a curb in the cart, brace yourself, and BAM!!!

haha

swimming in fog is something not many people get to do, especially in florida. a fun and simple way to do this is just to go to a pool...better if its a friends house or your own. go to any store that sells dry ice and buy any amount you want (bigger is better)

YOU NEED TO HAVE AND 18 YEAR OLD TO BUY DRY ICE

open up the ice and stick it in the pool....voila, instant fog

ps. do not touch the ice without gloves

Not so dangerous things to do

The dangerous things to do have pretty much come to an end now since I don't want to be held responsible for the next bank robbery performed with a smoke bomb potato guns and a flamethrower (and since i'm not sure the readers like that, so let me know!!). However the not so dangerous things are not exactly subtle either. Here are a few things you might want to do if you have the guts to do it, you ARE really bored, and you want a laugh. I will list only the ones that I have done for fun, and add more as I continue to find dumb things to do!
So here is a small list:
  1. Go to a restaurant and snatch someones food while they are distracted by another friend
  2. Color your hair a very obnoxious hair color
  3. while in public (school works great) sit next to a crowd of people you have never met for 5 minutes, sprint in place for 15 seconds and sit back down....repeat for 15 minute
NOW FOR THE MORE DARING PEOPLE!
  1. go try to practice kung-fu stunts (jackie chan)
  2. jump off your roof
  3. find dumb things to do with dry ice
  4. cause a power failure for more than 3 houses (does not have to be on purpose)
Ok well that is it for now but i will be sure to keep you posted on things to do!

Yet another unsafe thing to do

As you have probably figured out by now, this blogg includes very unsafe things to do. So I ask the readers to please be cautious when making these items. This project is EXTREMELY  dangerous and I ask once again for absolute caution and commonsense. I know I am making sound like a lethal weapon (which it could be if used wrong) but it also is tons of fun when used for in the right ways. If you are still reading I am assuming you intend to do use this wisely.
Ok, now for the part you've been waiting to hear....I will show you how to make a homemade flamethrower!! it is very simple to make and supplies hours of fun. The dangers of this are endless, gas melts plastic, flames burn people, and flames can kill. So again, USE CAUTION!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!
  1. Gasoline or a flamable liquid (choose wisely and not think of the size of the flame)
  2. a water gun ( bigger size like a supersoaker)
  3. a mini torch
  4. a lighter
Ok now that you have those you basically have the items to create an explosion in your backyard. the objective is simple but the risks are not always worth it. So now all you do is simply put gas in the water gun (gas DOES melts plastic so try finding another fluid), light the mini torch and place it at the end of the spout where the liquid comes out and secure with a tie or something, and fire. Fire in short bursts no longer than 3 seconds or else the flame will travel back into the gun causing a HUGE explosion. So do as I say and you should be fine.
enjoy!!!!

Make a smoke bomb

Making a smoke bomb is hard for many, but are actually simple and fun to make. first here is list of materials you will need:

  • sugar (sucrose or table sugar)
  • potassium nitrate, also known as saltpeter which you can buy online or sometimes you can find this at some garden supply stores in the fertilizer section, some pharmacies carry it too
  • pan
  • aluminum foil
once you have found all of the materials, place them either on a table inside or outside (outside would be best in case of accidents)
  1. Pour a ratio of 5 parts potassium nitrate to 3 parts sugar into the pan. Measurements don't need to be exact, but you want more potassium nitrate than sugar. For example, you can use 1-1/2 cups potassium nitrate and 1 cup sugar. If you use equal amounts of potassium nitrate and sugar, your smoke bomb will be harder to light and will burn more slowly not making much smoke, usually a fast burn is what you want.
  2. heat up the pan. Stir the mixture with a spoon using even strokes. If the sugar starts to melt along the edges where you are stirring, take the pan from the stove and reduce the temperature before continuing.
  3. your goal is to create a caramel looking liquid. Once all ingredients have melted, you can stop cooking them.
  4. pour the liquid onto a piece of foil. You can pour a small tester piece onto a separate piece, to make sure the liquid works. You can pour the smoke bomb into any shape, onto an object, or into a mold. The shape and size will affect the burn.
  5. Allow the smoke bomb to cool, you should be able to peel it off the foil.
  6. Now that you've made your smoke bomb, it's time to light it...

enjoy!!

Now before I help you with your boredom, keep in mind this next thing isn't for all ages. It kinda also falls under the "not safe" category. Building one of these can supply you with fun for hours and days as long as there is always potatoes. Yes, thats right, I said potatoes. Building a potato gun is relatively simple and cost around $40 to make. In the past I have made many of these in various designs and shapes. For those who have never heard of a potato gun, potato cannon, or the spud gun, here is what it looks like.
Ok now before you start thinking about how hard this will be, let me tell you it isn't. This model requires only 10 things:
  1. 2.5 in. pvc pipe
  2. 4in. pvc pipe
  3. adapterfrom 2.5in. to 4in.
  4. end cap
  5. screw in for the end cap
  6. a "Y" joint
  7. and a cap for that
  8. screws
  9. a barbecue ignitor
  10. (if 9 is not bought) and electric ignitor
along with these you need 3 other things...hairspray, a stick, and ALOT of potatoes. the steps are simple, glue all the components together to make it look like the picture above. once done with that comes the most complicated part. The spark. This part may take a while for some of us who aren't good with wires. first take two screw and drill them into the main combustion chamber (the 4in. pipe) then wrap each wire (positive and negative) to each screw. attempt to make a spark if it doesn't work make sure the wires are touching the screws and that the screw are about 3/4in. apart from each-other. Now tie down the sparker . the end of the 2.5in. pipe is blunt....sharpen it!!!
NOW YOURE FINISHED!!!!
put the potato down the barrel until it flushes with the end. then apply about 4 seconds of hairspray into the chamber and shut it. then push the potato a little more than half way down the barrel......press the button then
BOOM!!
enjoy
